Why we design curbless showers in Tucson
Waterproofing, drainage, and the calm of a single plane.

Waterproofing, drainage, and the calm of a single plane.
The appeal is more than looks
A curbless shower reads as calm because the floor runs unbroken into it — one plane, one material, no lip to step over. That continuity is also practical: it’s easier to clean and it ages with you, staying usable if mobility ever changes.
The reason not every bath has one is that curbless is unforgiving to build. Water has to be directed to the drain by the slope of the floor itself, and the waterproofing has to be continuous and correct. There’s no curb bailing you out if a detail is wrong.
Curbless is a detail you resolve on paper first. Improvise it on site and you’ll find out the hard way.
How we build them
We assess the floor structure and drain location before committing, then detail the slope, the waterproofing membrane, and a linear or well-placed drain so the water goes exactly where it should. In Tucson, we also plan for hard-water-friendly glass and surfaces so the finish stays clear.
If a curbless shower is on your wish list, let’s look at whether your floor can take one. Book a consultation and we’ll tell you honestly.
